t2cure will present at the 2nd Science4Life fair in the Jahrhunderthalle Höchst in Frankfurt on October 22, 2009. Over 80 companies in the Life Science and Chemistry industry across Germany will present to a broad audience. The founders’ initiative Science4Life supports new enterprises on their pass to independency. t2cure was awarded with the first prize in the nationwide business plan contest Science4Life Venture cup 2008 for the best business concept. Since the operational start in 2007, t2cure has been built on several clinical studies of the founders Prof. Stefanie Dimmeler and Prof. Andreas Zeiher.
The biotechnology company t2cure focuses on the development of innovative, regenerative medicinal products on the basis of autologous stem cells for the treatment of cardiac and peripheral vascular diseases. These treatments have the unique potential to induce regenerative processes in oxygen deprived tissues. This meets a true market need.
Meanwhile, the most advanced product in development, t2c001, was launched on the market. It is available at specialized cardiologic sites since the end of 2008. Patients suffering from cardiac or peripheral vascular diseases (i.e. acute heart attack, chronic ischemic heart disease and peripheral artery disease) can have stem cells taken from their hip bone. The cells are processed by t2cure to the cell therapy product t2c001, which is applied at the clinical site directly into the coronary arteries or into the peripheral arteries of the limbs using a catheter. The distribution network is constantly being expanded.
At the Science4Life fair, the treatment techniques of the innovative stem cell therapies are shown and results of new clinical studies are presented. Moreover, new research projects that aim at increasing the efficacy of the stem cells are introduced.
